Ukrainian President VolodyMyr Zelenskyy He said he wanted a “strong reaction” from the US government when Russian President Vladimir Putin does not sit with him for a bilateral meeting.
This happens when US President Donald Trump seeks to conclude a peace agreement between the two countries that were in the war after the invasion of Moscow in February 2022, although Trump acknowledged that Putin could not be prepared to conclude a deal.
Zelensky said he had already agreed to the proposed meeting with Putin.

“I immediately responded to the suggestion for a bilateral meeting: are we ready. But what if the Russians are not ready?” Zelensky said at a briefing in Kiev on Wednesday.
“If the Russians are not ready, we would like to see a strong reaction from the US,” he added.
Last week, Trump met with both leaders, and Zelenskyy visited the White House with other European leaders earlier this week and US president Meeting with Putin In Alaska last week.

White House said Putin was ready to meet With his Ukrainian enemy after a phone call this week with Trump.
“President Trump talked with President Putin over the phone, and he agreed to start the next stage of the peace process, the meeting between President Putin and President Zelensky, who, if necessary, hold a trilateral meeting between President Putin, President Zelensky and President Trump,” the White House press secretary told reporters.
The way to peace between the two parties remains uncertain, despite US diplomacy efforts as the US government and its allies are trying to work out potential security guarantees for Ukraine.

Zelensky stated that it was unclear what concessions about Russia are ready to make to end the conflict. Earlier, Trump said Kiev and Moscow would have to give way to the territory.
“To discuss what Ukraine is ready, let’s first hear what Russia is ready to do,” Zelenko said. “We don’t know it.”
