Spooner went on to write that “Andrew really lived life to the fullest, and his story and impact is not yet over.” He added, “It’s been lovely to get to know him in new ways as we’ve seen pictures and stories shared by so many. We look forward to more of that as we honor life living well. “

Evelyn took to her husband Youtube Channel on February 2 to reveal that he had been in a “very bad accident” a few days before then and was “fighting for his life” in the ICU after suffering a serious brain injury.
“This community has actually meant a lot to him and for both of us over the past year, and I know that you would want all of you to know this,” he shared emotionally in the clip. “I think many of you know we are Christians, and so we really believe in the power of prayer and that God is going to work through this tragedy.”
Evelyn finished the clip by asking fans for their prayers and wisdom and sharing a link with their Caringbridge page. “Your prayers and support in this time really means the world. In an update on Sunday, March 2, on the Cross’ Caringbridge page, Spooner revealed that their family had decided to remove her brother from life aid the next day. “Even in making this exciting decision, we have not and will not stop asking for Andrew’s healing,” Spooner wrote. “The medical team has explained that there is no predictable timeline for how long someone will live once life support is moved – it could be minutes, days or weeks. We pray it will be decades! “

In announcing his death on Tuesday, Spooner shared an insight into Cross’s final seconds with his family. “Before drawing Andrew from life aid yesterday, they put it on a mobile breathing machine and walked a loop around the whole ICU while all the staff available lined the hallway as a way to honor it,” he wrote on his Caringbridge page. “Then in the room, the friends and family of Scripture read, prayed, and sang during the process of getting rid of life aid and for over an hour thereafter ❤️ it was peaceful and beautiful.”
