“Scott, please fascism– said in a letter dated Wednesday.

As of Friday 140 members Yelsky class 1984 Signed the Internet list to the inset, a member of this class. He was also a former associate professor at the university where he taught economic history.

Subscribers include lawyers, leaders, journalists, playwrights, pastor, college professors, farmer and social workers.

Important, in a CNBC statement, said:

“These are equal parts odd and sad that a group of people, most of whom I have never met, believe that they stand in my life choice with a minor overlap 40 years ago.

How very bold these people run the company because of the keyboard rather than engage in political process in real life. They have to look inside, exercise some agencies and get out of their tables – as I do – to join the 2028 election cycle.

These are the same moods that sought to blow up President Trump at every turn. But by paraphrasing President Teddy Roosevelt, “not a critic who is considered … a merit belonging to a person in the arena.”

President Trump is a man in the arena. And the American people chose him – not these critics. Being part of the Trump administration and the service of the American people is the honor of my life. “

Catherine Teigarden, a graduate of the 1984 class, told CNBC that she had sent a similar letter, also signed by a class colleague, through the United States to the Treasury in March but did not receive an answer.

A new letter that added some details of the administration’s actions since March was posted on the Facebook page where people could sign it.

“My initiative on the association was to simply strengthen our votes,” said Teigarden, a resident of New York, who retired in 2023 after 30 years, having conducted a program of architectural education.

“I know that there were other people, such as I, who felt hopeless in our government,” she said.

The letter will repeat one in August 2017 to the then Minister of Treasury Stephen Mnuchin With more than 350 members of his colleagues Yelsky class 1985.

The letter urged Mnuchin to resign, claiming that he was “moral duty” to do so after Trump accused the violence of a white nationalist action in Charlottessville, Virginia, not only for the organizers but also in counter-progt. Mnuchin rejected this demand.

The new letter of the infant states that he, as a major of political science in Yale, knows:

Then the Mission rejects the list of examples of what the said, is the efforts of the Trump administration “to usurp power in court and legislative fields … for its own personal deterioration, wealth and power.”

“While the World Economic Chaos, which caused this administration, can go into the most distinctive alarm, illegally, as they are doing the official business at home, should be equally disturbing for you as a minister of treasury,” the letter reads.

“Your oath that supports the Constitution when you manage the finances of the nation requires you to do your best to stop the unprecedented attacks of this administration on our democracy.”

David Kalik, one of the people who signed a letter in an interview, said it did it because “I was really concerned about the proper processes and” other defense “in our Constitution, which is delayed by the President’s actions.”

“The administration has people already who should know better,” said Calik, director of the Immigration Research initiative, analytical center.

A Call, who did not know the insid in Yale, said Trump’s risk is “very real” today.

“I think we see some actions that are cruel authoritarian, or I have to say sharply autocratic and I don’t know how far it can go,” he said. “If people, as we and he (theless) do not stand up and say that” enough this “is a real danger … Further sliding into the autocratic government.”

Tehaden, a graduate who organized the letter, also did not know the Ilsky’s Ilsky, but said a number of people refused to sign the letter, “because they were worried how they would affect their lives.”

“A lot of people are afraid to put their name with the retaliation,” Tigarden said.

She said that other people asked her why the letter did not urge the inset to resign.

“For me, this does not really solve the problem,” Tigarden said. “We need a person who will be rational, who will speak to be such a voice of mind.”

She said she hoped that the letter would force the infant to consider his role in the Trump administration and to push away from what she sees as violations of constitutional and institutional norms.

“Why is he sale?

“It is about the illegality of all this. And he must know better.”

Hank Kopeland, another Yale city, who signed the letter, said: “I personally do not know the cattle, but I am ready to argue that he does not want to live in the autocracy.”

“He knows that the autocracy is conceiving of human rights and closes and takes and accepts, which improves life and makes life interesting and makes the economy dynamic,” said Kouplend, a resident of Indianapolis, who runs a small technology company. “After all, the firm, public societies are downgrades and do not get.”

Asked what he wants to achieve, Capeland said, “On the one hand, we shook in the hurricane, and some classmates refer to the futility as their cause is not signing.”

“On the other hand, many important actions in life are purely symbolic – exchanging rings or flag flight or a visit to the funeral,” he said.

“We do these symbolic things to remind ourselves and others what we don’t care.”

Scott Bet

Secretary of the Treasury

1500 Pennsylvania Avenue NW

Washington, Columbia’s County 20220

Dear Scott,

Low signed members of your Yale ’84 class are writing to call you to reconsider your part in the assistance of the appointed Trump administration of our Constitutional Republic to an authoritarian state. As a political science major, you know that the three branches of the US government are designed to act as equal partners, providing checking and residues on each other to prevent the type of power that is currently being committed.

There are many examples. In the last three months, Trump administration has aggressively sought executive orders and other means of usurpation of power provided in court and legislative fields so that they can act without restraint, not for the benefit of the American people, but for their own personal deterioration, wealth and power. So many of their actions are unconstitutional and undermine the principles of our democracy, including them:

  • cancellation and abandonment of funds that have already been approved and assigned to Congress;
  • Dismantling key federal agencies serving, inform and defend the public;
  • providing Elon Musk and his cohort of DOGE virtually unlimited access and control over private data of the millions of US citizens, safe financial systems of the country, as well as power to hire and dismiss federal workers in each agency, including agencies regulating their own business;
  • removal of the general inspectors and other monitors of fraud and corruption throughout the government;
  • Punitive attacks on independent media, universities, citizens, judges and other civil servants just because they disagree with the administration;
  • raising global alliances that have strengthened America worldwide for decades;
  • Illegal Promoda and imprisonment of people who violate our immigration laws and the proper process needed by our Constitution;
  • Enriching your own personal finance through a brazen conflict of interest, such as Trump -Mema and Trump’s investment accounts and investment in the technological group that are ready to go to synchronization with the moody tariff decisions of the administration; and,
  • Inflaing the global economic crisis through incorrect and meaningless tariff policy and self -destructive wars.

While the global economic chaos caused by this administration may go into the loudest signal bells, illegally, as they are leading the official business at home, should be equally disturbing to you as a minister of Treasury. Your oath is to support the Constitution when you are managing the finances of the nation, it requires you to do your best to stop the unprecedented attacks of this administration on our democracy.

Scott, please find a moment to retreat, look down the road and think if you want to be responsible for the inclusion of America into fascism. Dust from your old marked Copy Hanna The origins of totalitarianism From your college days. Remind yourself that after reading this text forty a few years ago, you thought that such a thing could “never happen here”. We benefit you the doubt that you didn’t think, “Wow, wouldn’t it be great if I could remodel America into autocracy!” Nevertheless, here you do this, helping and supporting the illegal actions of the administration that seek to destroy 250 years of US Democracy.

Our Yale education challenged us to use light and truth, Lux et veritas, to promote society, not suppression and lies that characterize this current administration, you are the main player. We urge you to re -work out these ideals from your college years and use your position to resist and redirect the illegal, destructive and non -American actions of this administration until it is too late.

According to the powerful anthem James Russell Lowel: “Once every man and the nation comes a moment to decide … for a good or evil side … Then he is a brave man, and a coward is standing aside.” Be bold. Take a job for what you know to be right and be the voice of the mind in the midst of this insanity.

For God, For the countryAnd for Yale.

With respect
