Xhaka near the return of Premier League with Sunderland

Former Arsenal Captain Xhaka is near a return to the Premier League with a newly promoted Sunderland.

Reports say May the black cats be close to an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for the 32 -year -old, as the main coach Regis Le Bris seeks to add experience to the Premier League to his squad.

Xhaka International Switzerland, who began his career in Basel before heading to Borussia Monchengladbach, spent seven years with the Gunners and knows the first flight in England.

He joined the Arsenal for £ 35 million from Monchengladbach during the summer of 2016 and made 297 appearances at the club, winning two Cups of Fa, before returning to Germany with Leverkusen in July 2023.

He was part of the Bundesliga de Xabi Alonso winner in 2024 and made 49 appearances in all competitions, 10 of them in the Champions League, during the last campaign.
