World Athletics Championships: Vera Kippon Storm to the Historical Fourth title of 1500 m in Tokyo

Vera Kipgon broke into the historic fourth world title by 1500 m, when Kenyan great expanded his series of domination with the fifth consecutive global gold in this event.

The 31-year-old retired retired World Record Owner Hisham El Gerruz as the only other athlete in history, who scored four 1500m titles at the championship.

After fixing the third consecutive Olympic triumphs last year, it was also the third dimmer for Kipigon, which ruled the finals from the beginning before escaping from his opponents in the last round.

In the last five world finals, not only the world record, but, except for heat, it has not been defeated at a distance of more than four years.

The Olympic Olympic medalist in Australia Jessica Hal faded to the bronze after trying to follow when Kipion ended the pace and Dork Eva provided Kenyan one two.

In three minutes, 52.15 seconds Kipion crossed the line, the abyss that separated it from the competitors, as evidenced by almost three seconds.

“I just want to thank God,” Kipion said BBC Sport.

“I knew I was able to defend my title of the world after the world record (earlier this year). I thank God that I am strong today.

“I just wanted to run comfortably without jolts and falls because I was a little scared when I see people who were falling. I just wanted to be myself and run through my race.”
