WNBA All-Star Game 2025: Players send a message to League

Stars wnba Fired a message to the League before all-Star game on Saturday night when players were frustrated by negotiations on a new collective agreement.

Players wore T -shirts saying “paying us what you owe” during the warm -up.

The shirts included the logo of the national basketball association (WNBPA).

The game is presented by the team Caitlin Clark Against the Nafais Coler team. Both players were named captains for the game. Both stars appeared in the shirts. Clark did so despite the fact that she is out of the game with the perineal injury.

The players met with the League officials on Thursday and the parties did not reach the deal. Chicago Sky Star Angel Reese was one of the many WNBA players who have expressed criticism of the League talks.

“For me, it was a discovery for me. Like, hearing the things and hearing the language of things I was glad to hear. It was disrespectful that we were sent back, the proposal that we were sent back,” she said on Friday.

“It is important to be able to vocals. If I sit down, I don’t care.”

New York freedom Sabrin’s star Ionnec said players are not going to agree to the “minimum” in the negotiations, while the Phoenix Mercury Satou Sabally called the last CBA “slap in the face”.

WNBA commissioner Katie Engelbert told the Associated Press after the meeting that the meeting was “constructive”.

“It was a very constructive dialogue. I think you know that obviously part of the process is to go back and forth and listen to the players. They listen to us and the owners representing the governors’ council,” Engelbert said. “I still feel really optimistic that we can do something transformation, done to the end. But it’s a process.”
