The participants of the event on the campus, where US Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was deadly shot dead on Wednesday, described mass panic after a shot was heard.
The 31 -year -old Kirk was killed after he was hit in the neck of one bullet, which, according to law enforcement, came from the shooting on the roof of a nearby building.
Careful and close Donald Trump Eli talked to about 3,000 people in his American tour on his return at Utah -Val.
A video in Social Media Show Kirk told about the violence with weapons a few minutes before he was shot.
One eyewitness said BBC News: “Me and my friends spent a good time, just listening to what was going on, and we just saw it, heard a loud cry, a loud explosion, and then I saw his body actually falling.”
Porter Lunerber, University student Uti -Val, who called himself a “big supporter” of Kirk and was at a rally, told BBC Radio 4 today that he was 50 feet (15 million) from Kirk.
“I sat there, shooting it, cut out my video and then heard this shot,” he said.
“You don’t really understand what happened until it happened. Charlie falls out of his chair, and everyone is starting to panic.”
The laferber said he hid behind the “cement terrace”, and then after about a minute “without hearing another shot, I stood up and just booked it into the nearest building I saw.”
An eyewitness called Daniel told Reuters that she was closer to Kirk – about 15 feet (5 m).
“It was awful,” she said. “Everything I hear is screaming, and I see people who work and I like,” it’s not safe to run. It’s not safe to get up “… and all I say,” please, God, please, please, “because I don’t want to die.”
Jason Cabinet, a former US congressman, said Fox News that he was at an event with his daughter when it happened.
“The shot came right on him,” he said, adding that “all hit the deck” and “scattered”.
Adam Barfalame, who interviewed a counter-Protesttes who opposed the presence of Kirk on the campus, also said that people initially fell on the floor.
“There was confusion, and people began to fight for the exits,” he said the BBC.
“A few people in tears,” he said about the atmosphere after the shooting.
Videos made by witnesses show that they are in a hurry to leave the scene after the shooting took place. According to the officials, the shot appears to have been released from the roof of 100 to 200 yards.
Phil Liman, a former representative of Utah, said he was a “political participation” with Kirk and distributed a baseball cap with him before the event.
“I came up to find other people, so I wasn’t near him when he was shot and I don’t know if I was glad about it, or I would like me to be there,” he said in the Today program.
He added that: “3000 children mostly watched as someone shot them, it’s really traumatic. Indeed, really rough.”
Emma Pitts, reporter Deseret News, founded in Utah, who attended the event, also described how the moment was shot dead.
“I will never take out the picture from the head,” Pitts said.
Pitts added that it was surprised that “no one was scanning our equipment, no one was scanning the bags, there was no such security.”
Bartholomew also said he was “surprised” that there was no security at the event. “Nobody stopped me and did not look for my bag.”
BBC asked Utah Valley University to comment on security measures at the event.
The University gave six security service for a conversation except for a private Kirk security detail.
