US President Donald Trump took gambling games, inserting the US into an aggravating conflict between Israel and Iran, but it may have paid off – at least while.
Trump announced on Monday night that both countries agreed with the ceasefire, which, he said, could lead to strong rest.
If the US president actually ended what he labeled “12 -day war”, it would have made a significant step back from the border of the conflict, which seemed to be covered by the region and also pull America further after Iranian nuclear facilities were hit on Saturday.
“Provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 am Tehran,” Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas said in a statement: “We do not intend to continue our response after.”
This cannot be called a ceasefire, but when the Tehran period was 04:00, Israeli attacks have been stopped. Both parties seem to be on the border to give up heat.
This development comes after a stormy day in the region when Iran followed the promise to avenge the strike on Saturday in the US.
According to early reports, all Iranian missiles aimed at the US massive base in Qatar were intercepted, and there were no American victims and harm.
During his address to the nation on Saturday night, President Trump warned that there would be a preferred American response to any Iranian attacks on US interests. He promised that if necessary, there are more goals that can be impressed by US forces.
More than 24 hours the world waited to find out what Iran would do. After Iran acted, the attention again leaned back to the US president and he said for the first time.
“Iran has officially responded to our attachment about its nuclear facilities with a very weak answer, which we expected, and very effectively opposed,” Trump wrote on his social media site.
He said Iran pulled her out of his “system” and added that “perhaps Iran could go to peace and harmony in the region.”
While the damage is reportedly limited, Trump seemed inclined to keep the fire in the hope that the Iranians would be ready to negotiate seriously. And behind the scenes, the White House says he talked to the mediators of Qatar and the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu to work out the ceasefire details.
Trump’s weekend attack on Iran was a high -risk maneuver, but the scenario that is already included.
Similar dynamics played itself in January 2020, when Trump ordered the purposeful murder of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard leader Kasim Saleimani in Baghdad.
Iran launched rockets on military bases in Iraq, injuring more than 100 US soldiers, but the US decided not to grow. The main heads eventually prevailed.
According to US media, in the last attack on Monday, Iran released a number of missiles on US bases equal to the total bombs that US military aircraft fell during the weekend attack.
This, along with the preliminary notification of Iran, which is provided by the Katar government, for which Trump said he is grateful, believes that Iranians are looking for proportionality, not escalation.
For most of the day, Trump was more oriented to the price of oil, coverage of US media and the proposal of former Russian President Dimitri Medvedava that the external nation provides Iran nuclear weapons.
US officials have said the president is doing his threats, unlike some of his predecessors.
If Iran launched another round of attacks – and there were American deaths or significant damage – pressure to Trump.
At the moment, however, he would seem to look at extra -curricular actions, and both countries seem ready to entertain him.
