US Special Messenger for Mission Mission Steve Witcoof claims that Russian president Vladimir Putin Last week, he made “reliable” steps to peace during a meeting with President Donald Trump.
Witcooff made a statement during a speech at Fox News Sunday with Shannon Bram. The official was in the room for meeting Alaska and previously met with Putin several times.
“We agreed to much more reliable security guarantees,” Vitkoff said. “The Russians agreed to the legislative language that they testified that they did not try to take any more land from Ukraine after a peaceful deal, where they indicate that they do not violate any European borders.”
Witcoof also said Trump was talking to the Ukrainian president VolodyMyr Zelenskyy And European leaders immediately after the meeting. He said the meeting was “absolutely recognized as a victory.”

Leshcha pressed Vitcoof to explain why Trump did not pushed Putin to the ceasefire agreement during the meeting. Earlier, Trump said the ceasefire was a priority and claimed that Putin would face the consequences if he did not agree.
“The President always spoke about the cessation of the fire until he made many different victories at this meeting and began to understand that we can talk about a peaceful deal. The final deal here is a peaceful deal, and we talked about much more reliable security guarantees than anyone imagined,” he said.

In a statement after the call with Trump, large European leaders did not address whether they prefer a peaceful ceasefire.

Leaders said “welcomed President Trump’s efforts To stop the killing in Ukraine, stop the war of Russia’s aggression and reach a fair and lasting peace. “
Putin described his talks with Trump in Alaska as “very sincere”.

“Of course, we respect the position of the US administration, which sees the need for a rapid ceasefire,” Putin said at the next meeting in the Kremlin, adding that “we would like to move to all issues in peaceful ways.”
