Shakur Stevenson says he again saw his fight against William Zepeda, saying he was the “hardest struggle” of his career, and that he feels that the Mexican Brawler showed a potential of being a “Gatekeeper” To the light division.
What the fans saw was Zepeda Creation of the model On how to defeat Shakur overflowing his Pothot offense with a punch. Despite not getting the victory, Zepeda created a lasting model to defeat Stevenson.
William deserves a credit to show how to defeat Newark, New Jersey. However, Robeisy Ramirez de Cuba had shown the key at the 2016 Olympic Games when Stevenson overflowed with punches, leaving him crying without tears later.
The truth: Shakur was abused
The Light WBC champion, Stevenson (24-0, 11 kos), was out of foot for Zepeda and was erased in the third round from a dagger stab that went through his normally hermetic defense.
Zepeda (33-1, 27 kos) labeling as a goalkeeper’s level was a transparent Shakur attempt to minimize the nightmare he experienced, dropped all night, and seemed to lose the struggle in the eyes of some fans.
The judges gave Stevenson a wide unanimous decision of 12 rounds, with scores of 118-110, 118-110 and 119-109. These scores did nothing to deceive the fans who had seen the struggle and saw that Shakur had hit Zepeda on his ropes. It seemed that he took more punishment than Zepeda’s last opponent, Tevin Farmer, who had enough offense to save himself from being buried with his high production.
“I saw it, and what could have been given to him were four rounds. It was a good fight but (Fighter) is hard. I feel Should be a goalkeeper. All these people who jump the lines. I feel like you have to go through Zepeda, “Shakur Stevenson said CigarK on what role can bee -look at William Zepeda.
We do not know how good is Zepeda because these main talents have not yet fought:
– Andy Cruz
– Abdullah Mason
– Floyd Schofield
– Raymond Muratalla
– Herrera Cores
Cuban Cruz would be the true test to evaluate how good is Zepeda because it is clearly the best fighter in the light division. It is not given the same promotional push as Shakur is by Matchroom and Turki Alralikh. It only shows that boxing is more about marketing fighters as a product, even if they are false and not close to the best. It’s just business.

That is why Shakur Stevenson does not put himself against combatants like Andy Cruz, Abdullah Mason or Schofield because they would ruin everything. All the promotion and marketing of him would go down to the drain.
“Yes, this was the hardest struggle of my career. It was not my struggle. It was his struggle, but it does not mean that he won in his struggle,” Shakur said when the interviewer told him that he was worried about him after the first two rounds.
If Stevenson had fought against his struggle, “he would have been out of the Louis Armstrong stadium that night and would have regretted to do it -in the brief cases that Shakur ran from Zepeda in rounds 10 to 12, the people started immediately. They did not wait to do -know that they did not appreciate their Jerry style because they had paid to entertain.
Shakur must understand that he will have to aggressively fight for the rest of his career if he does not want to listen to the boos and continue to be placed in the casualties. This is not the 1990s, in the time of Mayweather.
Fans will not tolerate bored fighters at this time, unlike when Floyd struggled, when there were fewer entertainment options. Shakur needs to permanently scrape his old style of struggle and continue to use the most entertaining approach he had for Zepeda’s struggle.
“You could see that I was smiling because I was having fun. I was not in panic. I had to do what I didn’t expect to do,” said Stevenson.
It smile of fake appearance That Shakur made some fans be fooled, but if you had information, you could see their bloody lips and swollen eyes that he was not a happy camper with the pressure Zepeda was applying.
That smile was only a primitive bluff on the part of Stevenson, trying to show the fans and Zepeda that he did not bother his punches endlessly with which he hit him in the half -section.
Zepeda may not have landed much in his head because Shakur leaned on the ropes to avoid heads, but he hit the body at will. He surpassed Stevenson by a wide range of struggle, but the judges only took into account the head strokes in his score. This explains his wide scores in favor of Stevenson.
