Will Shakur’s glass hand hold up against Schofield?

Stevenson (22-0, 10 KOs) says he’s had issues with his hands throughout his career, which limited his ability to sit on his punches. his glass hand still a problem as he recently had hand surgery.

In a video posted of Shakur working out, he was not using his right hand. That’s what they operated on him. If Stevenson’s hand breaks against Schofield, he will find himself helpless and unable to fight him. He can’t run to victory like he did against Edwin De Los Santos and count on the judges to give him a win because he’s the A team.

“The only thing that makes him a threat is his awkward style. His unusual pace, the jump, and you just have to be ready for that. But the truth is, I’m on his son’s level. So I’m going to show it.” Shakur Stevenson said on Shawn Porter’s channelspeaking of Floyd Schofield.

“I think it’s wishful thinking,” Shakur said when asked why fighters think they can beat him after they’ve fought him. “He didn’t see anything when he was in the ring. He didn’t come out of the ring and said, “I think I can beat him because he came out of the ring and said he was the best fighter he’s ever been in the ring with.”

If Shakur isn’t throwing with power because of his shaky hands, it’s understandable why his fellow coaches believe they can beat him. If Schofield goes by what happened with his bout with Shakur, it’s understandable why he feels he can beat him. It’s a logical conclusion that someone would reach after training with a fighter favoring a fragile and injury-prone hand.

“He DMed me and said, ‘Bro, you’re better than anybody I’ve ever seen.’ He remembered how the matchup went,” Shakur said of his bout with Schofield. “He remembered what happened, but I think wrestlers these days have to be delusional. I think he’s a delusional kid, and his dad is delusional. They’re saying that to cheer themselves up, but I read between the lines”.

If Shakur couldn’t sit on his punches due to hand issues, how can he say Kid Austin is “delusional” to think he can beat him. It makes sense that he thinks he can beat a non-puncher.

“I feel like I’m stronger than him. I don’t think he’s stronger than me. I think people get confused that I’ve had hand problems throughout my career. I think I’m honestly a stronger fighter than him Shakur Stevenson said.

Shakur sounds delusional here, saying he thinks he’s “stronger” than Schofield because all you have to do is watch his past fights on YouTube, and you can believe that Kid Austin is a much bigger puncher.
