It’s time to ring in 2025 with Bad at home: the musical blockbuster with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo closed a New Year’s digital release. It will include tons of bonus content including, yes, a singalong version like the one that follows the original in theaters.
According to Varietythe film will be available for purchase on demand on December 31, and that’s not all; “Bonus content on the digital version includes a singalong version, plus a 40-minute journey through Oz that ‘celebrates the transformative magic of film on screen,’ and other material.” (Unfortunately, going by the list below, it doesn’t appear that the bonus material includes the cut scene in a poppy field which showed how Glinda, ElphieFiyero, Boq and Nessa become fast friends.)
Variety also notes that Bad will be available to buy “on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango at Home (formerly Vudu), Comcast Xfinity, Cox and Microsoft Movies & TV.”
It seems a bit early for the film to drop digitally, as the 4K Blu-ray release is scheduled for February 5th. Many fans still go to theaters to watch, so we hope that this digital surprise does not mean. it will be pulled soon. It’s such a fun experience at the cinema with a crowd dressing up – and the singalong version has only been in theaters recently.
