Australia set a goal of 282 runs to win the title after a crucial 59-Run of Ninth Wicket between Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood. The collaboration rescued Australia from a precarious 148/9, helping them to reach 207 in their second post. Above all, Australia had achieved an advantage of 74 in the first entrances.
The persecution will be a tough task for South -Africa, as the goals greater than 200 have been successfully persecuted only four times in the history of the test cricket at Lord’s. The highest came in 1984 when the West Indies pursued 342 against England.
The 282 -year persecution of England against New Zealand in 2004 was second. They also pursued 277 in 2022 and 216 in 1965, both against New Zealand. Significantly, only 200 more has been achieved in the precinct since 2005.
South -Africa chose the first place under the cloudy skies and had an immediate impact. Kagiso Rabada won five doctors to say goodbye Australia for 212 in less than 60 years. Steve Smith (66) and Beau Webster (72) were the only Australian baptismers to make important contributions.
Australia responded by reducing South -Africa at 43/4 to the collision on day 1. The yellow men struck in the first session of the second day, but it was not until after lunch that they took control.
South -Africa reached the pause of 121/5, but collapsed shortly afterwards, losing its last five doctors by only 17 runs. Pat Cummins directed the post with a six -wicket transportation. Australia, the WTC champions, which reigns, aims to defend their title after the triumph of 2023 on India in Oval.
