Andy Cruz is not expected to have a world shot soon against IBF’s light champion, Raymond Matalla, after becoming his obligation by stopping Hironori Mishiro in the fifth round last Saturday night in the Madison Square Garden in New York.
Muratalla (23-0, 17 kos) has just been raised by the IBF recently, and its promoters at Top Rank will want to focus on a more earned struggle. Putting it with Cruz (6-0, 3 kos) would be a bad movement. Muratalla is a good fighter, but not at the level of Andy Cruz.
“I don’t know what happens to this Muratalla struggle. I imagine Matchroom pushes a lot to get the mandatory order as quickly as possible,” said Chris Mannix to his YouTube Channel, talking about Andy Cruz after he defeated Hironori Mishiro to become a must for the IBF light champion, Raymond Matalla, last Saturday.
It would be interesting to see what strategy the upper rank will use to help Muratalla maneuver around Cruz if the IBF orders the fight. They could move Muratalla to a unification with Abdullah Mason if he defeats Sam Noakes to capture the light title of Wbo. However, Mason, 21, is young, and it would be self -taught that the first rank coincided with Muratalla, 28.
“I imagine the upper rank, which promotes Muratalla, is doing everything that this struggle cannot do soon,” said Mannix. “I don’t know why they would like to enter with Andy Cruz. Maybe they have fought against Muratalla Abdullah Mason. He’s going to fight against Sam Noakes (for the light title of Wbo). This was ordered. I think the higher rank will do some things.”
They would jump to the opportunity to combine Muratalla against someone like Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz or Frank Martin. These are realistic fights that Raymond would have a good opportunity to win.
“I would love to see the struggle between Cruz and Muratalla,” said Mannix. “He is unbeaten and is a good fighter. This victory had on Tevin Farmer better aged the fight. So I would love to see this struggle, but I don’t see the first rank rush at all. I don’t think this is realistic.”
Andy Cruz is much better fighter than Tevin Farmer, 36. The success that Muratalla had against him does not mean that he could do the same against Cruz.
“Whenever Andy Cruz has a shot, I think he will win a title. And once he gets this title, you are looking around:” It’s okay, can we make Andy Cruz vs Shakur Stevenson? “It’s a good struggle.
The upper rank will not want to launch Muratalla with Cruz after seeing what he did in Mishiro last Saturday night. They will want to defend Muratalla against someone less formidable and will try to endure enough time to make a great struggle with a more notable fighter. Tank Davis and Shakur Stevenson either. There is no money in the fight against Muratalla.
