Priscilla Presley Her family compared to the Kennedys for one particular reason in her forthcoming biography, As I leave you: Life after Elvisabout to be released next month.
“You say at the end of the book that people think the Presleys are like the Kennedys in the sense that they had to bury their children,” Australian radio host Amanda Keller Divided during Tuesday Priscilla, August 26, appearance on “Jam Nation with Jonesy & Amanda.”
Keller was wondering if Priscilla, 80, felt that her life was “tragic at times” because of this. (The recent Jackie Kennedy Onassis and John F. Kennedy lost three of their children.)
“At times,” said Priscilla. “I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’ve had great times, but you know, the finale isn’t that great.”

Images ie Peskin/GettyPriscilla noted that she was grateful for all the “memories” she has, especially with the late husband Elvis Presley.
“I have my days, there’s no doubt. I don’t know how that stops,” he continued. “I’m reminded almost every day. I’m going to hear Elvis music, which means if I’m going somewhere people think it’s funny to put the music on.”
He added, “(his voice) brings me back to my life back then.”
Priscilla said she was “coping” with the loss of Elvis and her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley.
“I have a son and I have to think about it and make sure it’s right,” he added. “That’s largely where my life is at the moment.”
Priscilla refers to her son, Navarone, 38, with whom she shares Marco Garibaldi.
Priscilla was married to Elvis between 1967 and 1973. The legendary singer died years later in 1977 at the age of 42. The former couple shared one daughter, Lisa Marie, who died at the age of 54 in January 2023.
“With a heavy heart that I have to share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie had left us,” Priscilla shared in a statement following the death of Lisa Marie. “She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this intense loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further attention.”
Lisa Marie’s death came nearly three years after her son, Benjamin Keough. He died by Suidice at the age of 27 in July 2020.
“Here are some of the darkest days of my family’s life. The shock of losing Ben has been devastating,” Priscilla wrote in a social media statement at the time. “Trying to put all the pieces together from all the possible whys has penetrated my soul. Every day I wake up I pray it will get better.”
