In a colossal for the Delhi capitals (DC), the India Star National Cricket team India and its employer, Axar Patel, has been ruled out of the game against the Mumbai (MI) Indians.

Axar Patel has been ill for the past two days: FAF DU DU PLESSIS
Surprisingly, Delhi Capitals (DC) Axar Patel’s pattern did not go out and instead, his deputy came out. This left many asking -why the DC skipper is not available for the game.
Speaking with Ravi Shastri in The Toss, DC captain Faf du Pessis revealed that Axar has been ill in recent days and has a bad flu, which governs the party against Mumbai’s Indians. Said:
“It’s very unfortunate for him. Axar Patel has been ill for the past two days. He has a bad flu. All the best for his recovery. He has been excellent this season. We will miss him tonight.”
Axar Patel has led Delhi’s capitals from the front in his debut season as a full -time captain of the Indian Premier League (IPL). It has shone with both the bat and the ball and played a crucial role in the good Capital Delhi campaign in the current season.
Axar Patel is the fourth highest scorer in Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025, as he has struck 263 runs in 12 games at an average of 26.30 and a strike rate of 157.48. With the ball, he took 5 doctors at an average of 57.60, an economy of 8.47 and a strike rate of 40.80.

FAF du Pessis expressed confidence in the team’s ability and said they are completely prepared for the game against Mumbai Indians and aimed at sealing the final place of playoffs. Said:
“What a chance! If you ask any team, the last game of the season, you have a crack to reach the top four, you will smile and have this opportunity with both hands. Playing a good team today, we are ready for it.”

FAF du Pessis also admitted that they did not work well in the last five games, but he hoped that things changed for them. In the end, he again praised Axar, labeling him as “two players” and said they do not have a resemblance to him. FAF DU PLESSIS stated:
“We have not been at our best in the last 5-6 games. Every day there is a new opportunity.
“Axar is not there, Axar is two players: fantastic Spinner and a big whisk, so it is difficult to replace it. We don’t look like. We’ll see how it goes.”
