Why Glenn Close hasn’t been in a Relationship for 10 years

Glenn Close admits she hasn’t looked for a romantic relationship in the 10 years since her last divorce.

During her interview on The Drew Barrymore Showwhich was broadcast on Monday, January 13, the Drew Barrymore asked if Close, 77, had even dipped her toe back into the romance pool after her divorce. (Close husband and businessman David Evans Shaw split in 2015 after nine years of marriage.)

“No, I don’t know. I mean, I’m always up for anything, but I’m very happy right now,” said the Back to Work said a star.

Barrymore, 49, asked if the Oscar winner had ever tried dating apps. “Are you crazy?” Close asked incredulously, adding, “No, I’m too shy to do that.”

The host admitted that she “participated” in the apps. “I thought it was so much fun and the search is different,” Barrymore explained.

Close admitted, however, that she is not looking for love. “I’m not looking,” he said. “Because I’m really, I’m not a super, comfortable, social person, so I don’t jump to go to a party.”

Before marrying Shaw, Close was married Cabot Wade from 1969 to 1971 and James Marlas from 1984 to 1987. She shares a daughter Albu Annie Starke with ex John Strong.

Barrymore, who divorced Will Kopelman in 2016 after four years of marriage, is often open about her forays into the dating world with her talk show guests, and Close isn’t the only one who has said she’s happily flying on her head himself. “They always kind of tell you when you’re younger, once you’re happy and, like, satisfied in your own life and you don’t feel like you need someone , they’re like ‘And that’s when you meet the one!’” the After midnight host, 31, says. “I really think that just feeling happy and content and content in your own life makes it even harder until now because you’re just like, ‘Well I could go home to me. I could order what I want for dinner and I could be quiet.’”

Meanwhile, Julia Fox told Barrymore that she had “to swear off men” during an interview in August 2024. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” Fox, 34, said in an episode in August 2024. “I’m happy. Everything is fine. Why would I want to throw anything into the mix that might mess up my Feng shui, so to speak?”

Barrymore said she herself is still single eight years after a divorce, and Fox asked, “Aren’t you so happy though?”

“Yes, I am,” Barrymore laughed.
