Emma Heming Willis have opened for Bruce Willis‘The state of health and why the actor live in a second home In the midst of his battle with Frontotemporal dementia.
In the special ABC Emma and Bruce Willis: the unexpected journeyBroadcast in August 2025, Heming Willis shared that her husband was “still very mobile,” but his language highly affected by the disease.
“We have learned to adapt, and we have a way of communicating with it, which is just a different way,” he revealed.
Heming Willis also shared that Bruce has a care team that cares for In the second home, located near the house she lives mainly with their daughters, Mabel and Evelyn.
The Willis family announced that he was diagnosed with Afasia in March 2022. The following year, they revealed that his condition had progressed to Dementia Frontotemporal, which can “cause a variable decline in behavior, personality and/or difficulty in producing or understanding language,” by Alzheimer’s Society.

In the special ABC, Heming Willis explained that people with dementia frontotemporal can be noise sensitive. She mentioned that she became paranoid about sleeping, door sounds opening and closing and compromising that the stove could introduce them to her husband.
Heming Willis explained that she stopped allowing her children to get friends over in case the noise could potentially cause agitation.
“I didn’t know if parents would feel comfortable leaving their child in our home,” he explained. “I wasolate our whole family, and that was by designing … that was a hard time.”

“It was one of the most difficult decisions I had to make so far,” he said of moving Willis to his own home. “But I knew, most of all, Bruce would want that for our girls. You know, they would want them to be in a home that was tailored to their needs, not his needs.”
Willis moved to the home “some time ago.”
Heming Willis explained that she spent a lot of time in the second house with Mabel and Evelyn. They go over there for meals and Make other frequent visits.
“We’re there a lot,” he told the host Diane Sawyer. “This is our second home, so the girls have their things there. It’s a house full of love and warmth and care and laughter.”
