Nostalgic boxing fans are pleased to see the former HBO commentator, Jim Lampley, who will give a comment for a blow to Ring Magazine, and will be returned again for the triple head on May 2. Some also expect Max Kellerman to be returned.
Kellerman worked in HBO for many years until they stopped spreading boxing in 2018. It would be interesting to see that Kellerman recovered, as he is no longer with ESPN. He had been one of the boys to entertain live boxing, especially the backward with Lampley.
What I liked from Kellerman is that I had a Howard Cossell Say -as if it were an attitude, where I was not afraid to give your thoughts. Cossell was the best, but Kellerman was a good light version.
Somehow, Kellerman is preferable to clinging because he speaks faster and can generate statistics on past fights. Is like a human computer. On the negative side, he was rigid and not as humorous as other HBO commentators, such as Roy Jones Jr. and George Foreman. These two were fantastic.
Younger fans know only Kellerman for their work at Espn, teaming with Stephen A. Smith, which was not a good pairing. To those who lacked the chemistry Kellerman had when he was with the HBO crew. During the first episodes, Espn should have noted that putting Kellerman with Stephen A. was a bad play. Someone is needed with a sense of humor and interested in being a role that works. Kellerman was mistaken for this type of work. It’s not theatrical enough.
Lampley was more intellectual, so he and Kellerman were a good team when they were with HBO. Fans reminiscent of emissions, they miss the old crew they had. Fighting cards were not always fantastic in the following years, but Kellerman, Lampley, George Foreman, Roy Jones Jr. And Larry Merchant became fun. Kellerman started when the merchant left the team and was a strange adjustment at first.
The May 2 line
