Five journalists al-jazeera were killed by an Israeli strike in Gaza on Sunday and seven of their 28-year-old correspondent Anas al-Sharif, who from the very beginning reported the war.
The other four killed journalists al -Jazyri were correspondent for Mohammed Kraik, and operators by Ibrahim Zaver, Mohammed Nufal and Muame Oliva, Al -Jazeera.
According to the television company, two more. One of them, the hospital officials called Mohammed al-Haldi, a local freelance journalist.
The target attack on the tent used by journalists has caused a strong international condemnation, including the UN, Qatar, where al -Jazeera and media freedom are founded.
Israel says Sharif was a “head of Hamas terrorist camera” but gave little evidence confirming this. Earlier, Sharif refused this, and al -Jazeera and media rights were dismissed.
The BBC realizes that Sharif worked on the Media Hamas team in the gas before the current conflict.
In some of his positions in social media, before the death of a journalist, you can hear Hamas criticism.
Jobbi CEO Jodi Ginsberg, Committee for Protection of Journalists, said the BBC that there was no justification for the murder of Sharif.
“International law at this point is very clear that the only persons who are legal goals during the war are active participants in the fighting. Having worked as an advisor to the media in Hamas, or in fact for Hamas, it does not make you an active combat participant,” she said.
“And nothing that Israeli troops still do not give us confidence, gives us confidence that he was even an active Hamas member.”
Anas al-Sharif became one of the most famous reporters of al-jazeera during the war.
Born in the densely populated area of Jabalia in the north, he worked in al -Jazeera for about two years, said the television company.
“He worked throughout the duration of the Gaza war, reporting the situation of people and attacks that are committed in the newspaper,” said BBC Salah Nagm, director of Al Jazeera English.
He married a four -year -old daughter, Sham and an annual son Salah, he was separated from them for a long section during the war, while he continued to report from the north after refusing to obey the Israeli evacuation orders.
A joint post on Instagram on his official account, together with his wife this January, showed an image when Sharif smiles with his two children. The signature said that after 15 months of the war he met with Salah for the first time.
Sharif often appeared in direct broadcasts, widely reporting About the situation in the gas.
He reported targeting his colleagues, including Wonderful all jazeera ‘who died in 2024 in the air strike in Gaza.
His father was already killed in December 2023, when the family house was aimed at an Israeli strike. A few hours before he was killed by himself, he posted about the intensive Israeli bombing of Gaza.
Mohammed Maavad, head of the editor al -Jazeera, called him “the only voice left in the city of Gaza” – which Israel is now planning in military order.
The raid of the facki, the contribution manager on the Arab Channel Al -Jazeera, said the BBC Sharif was “bold, devoted and honest – that’s what made him successful as a journalist with hundreds of thousands of social media followers from all over the world.”
The Kanki, who oversees the Bureau of the Canal and the correspondents, added: “His dedication delivered him to a districts where no other reporter dared to go, especially those who witnessed the worst massacres. His integrity kept him a true journalist’s message.”
Faki said he talked to Sharif many times over the war.
“In our recent conversations, he told me about the hunger and hunger, which he kept about how difficult it was to survive with such little food,” he said.
“He felt that he had nothing left but to strengthen the voice of the gas. He lived the same difficulties they live now, suffering from hunger, mourning.
“His father was killed in an Israeli bombing. Thus, he looked like all the gases: it carries a loss, pain and stability. And even before his death, he was kept because it was a story to be told.”
Mohammed Qreieh, 33, was the father of two from Gaza, the Associated Press reports. Like the Shariff, he was separated from his family for months during the war, as reported from the front line in northern Gaza, AP added.
The latest broadcast of Qreieh was Sunday night, a few minutes before it was aimed, al -Jazeera Arab reports.
The Israeli military has accused Sharif of representing the journalist, saying that he “served as the head of the terrorist camera in Hamas” and was responsible for launching missile attacks in Israelis – but this gave little evidence to support these claims.
The IDF statement states that he had documents that “clearly prove” his “military affiliation” with Hamas, including “staffing, lists of terrorist training, telephone catalogs and paid documents.”
He publicly released several screenshots of the spreadsheet that apparently listed Hamas operatives from the Northern Gaza Strip, noting the injuries of the Hamas operatives and what is said to be a telephone catalog for the Eastern Jabali battalion of the armed group.
Earlier, Israel accused Sharif of being a member of Hamas’s military wing – that he and his employer were strongly denied.
Reporters Without Borders (RSF), a media group, said the allegations against him were “groundless” and called for interferes of the international community.
“Without the brutal action of the international community, stop the Israeli army … We are probably witnessing more such extraordinary killings by specialists,” RSF said.
Almost 200 journalists were killed in the Israel war, launched in response to Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, RSF reports.
The Facci of Al -Jazeera accused the Israeli military of making stories about journalists before killing them, “hide what (this) is doing in the newspaper.” Earlier, Israel denied journalists.
He described it as a “long -standing pattern” and called Murder of Israeli veteran Palestinian-American journalist Shirin Abu OklaThe Israeli Army on the Occupied West Bank in 2022 was shot dead during the Israeli Army raid.
The Israeli military concluded that one of her soldiers probably killed her, but called her death unintentional. Al -Jazeera said his data showed that it was a “intentional murder”.
“Here is an important fact: if Israel was prosecuted for the murder of Shiren, it would not dare to kill 200 journalists in the newspaper,” said the facts.
Sharif knew that Israel would be sent after Arabic spokesman released a video about him in July and accused him of being a member of Hamas’s military wing.
In a message published in his account X, which was pre -laid in the event of his death, Sharif said that “made every effort and all my strength to be support and voice for my people … Don’t forget the gas.”
