According to the Brand websiteSimone was inspired to start her jewelry line after she was diagnosed with phase III chondrosarcoma, a rare type of bone cancer, in her 2004 right leg.
“After surgery, she discovered that the lollipop tattoo on her leg had been changed. That was the inspiration for her signature lollipop hanging trophy, ‘and Sweet Touch of Hope,’” the website is reading. “Then came circle earrings, bangles, necklaces and her collection of men’s jewelery. Through her partnership with the American Cancer Association, she gives a proportion of profit from each sale to the ongoing battle against the disease, in all forms.”
Simone had a 15 -hour surgery to replace the bone, as well as rehabilitation. She has since been cancer free.
LL Cool J remained his wife’s side throughout her cancer trip.
