Influencer Tanner martin has been open for his cancer journey before publishing his own death at the age of 30.
Martin was diagnosed with Colon Cancer IV Step In 2020, when he was 25. Five years later, Martin divided in a pre -recorded video he died.
“Hey, me, tanner, if you watch this, I’m dead,” he said through Instagram. “I had a hec of life. I decided to make this video announcing my death because I saw someone do it, as, a year or two ago, and I think it’s a good opportunity to get all your thoughts out.”
He continued, “Life was amazing. I really enjoyed it while I was here. Hopefully, I think there’s something after this. I’m excited to meet those people, and hope we hang out now and make fun of all of you nerds.”

Martin was diagnosed with colon cancer at the age of 25
Martin was honest about his cancer journey, giving updates to his followers over the years. In March 2024, Martin’s wife, Shay WrightShared that the couple learned that Martin had months left to live.
“I feel a lump in my neck as I wrote this,” wrote in a clause Instagram Mail at the time. “We discovered on Wednesday that Tanner has months to live. We do not have an exact number, because that is not realistic to give. Although we were not very surprised, it is still difficult to hear that confirmation.”
He continued, “He is on a chemo regimen, but only giving him more time. His body is in decline, with his liver as the greatest concern. These next months will be so hard, but so beautiful. Every second with Tanner is a gift.”

Martin had a blog with his wife
Martin and Wright explained their decision to share their story in their blog, entitled “Tanner & Shay Holding both: Life & Loss.”
“This blog is a place for the messy, beautiful, and cruel parts,” he wrote on the website. “We talk about cancer, grief, mental health, and prepare end-of-life-not because we have all the answers, but because we live-while also embracing joy, love, and laughter moments that make life meaningful, even in the midst of uncertainty.”
He continued, “I am the First Writer here, but Tanner may drop in when he is on his feet.

Martin popped the question to Wright in July 2018. “5 years ago I met the happiest missionary. 6 months ago became my best friend. And tonight became my fiancé. I love you Tanner Martin,” he wrote through Instagram At the time, alongside a picture of it embracing Martin and a close image of her. The couple tied the knot in October 2018.
Martin welcomed daughter 1 month before death
Martin and Wright shared in November 2024 that they expected their first child. The couple’s daughter, Amy Lou, was Born next year.
“Her father did it,” Wright’s headline of his Instagram post May 2025, which included the announcement of a reading wooden birth, “Our little Jiaozi has arrived.” (Jiaozi translates into “dumping” in Chinese.)
In a follow -up video after publishing his death in June 2025, Martin shared that his final wish was for fans to help support Wright and their child financially. The GofundMe has raised more than $ 525,000 of its $ 750,000 goal.
