Colter Shaw will stop on nothing to try to resolve cases on CBS ‘ TrackerNo matter the poles. But where is the show filmed?
The popular drama series follows Justin Hartley Like Colter Survivalist Wolf Lone, which travels in airflow throughout the US to help find missing people. Throughout the first two seasons of the show, viewers saw Colter tackling cases in Montana, Nevada, Idaho, Virginia, Echo Ridge fictional of his family, California, property and more.
The job is sure have been a much physically demanding to Hartley, who admitted that it was “challenging” filming in the airflow, by the Sioux City Journal.
“We’re a roadshow,” Executive Producer Ken I was at the outlet. “We’re out on location seven out of eight days shooting. Physically, it’s challenging – especially for Justin. It’s a very physical show and it’s in 90 percent of it.”

Where is a ‘Tracker’ filmed?
While episodes of Tracker See Colter traveling to various cities throughout the US, the show is actually filmed in Canada. Filming venues have included Vancouver Film Studios, Cleveland Dam in North Vancouver, Beach Grove Hotel in British Columbia, Dind Owl Estate winery in Oliver, British Columbia and more scenic spots in the Great White North.
“The production may cause temporary noise from trucks, generators and scene sounds,” said a public warning, according to the outlet.
Justin Hartley reflected on a ‘Tracker’ shooting in Canada
In season 2, Chapter 16, Colter was seen steering snowflakes in search of two missing sisters in Montana’s desert. Hartley shared what was much like filming in the snow.
“At any time you get elements like that it’s worth it. We shot at Whistler (Ontario, Canada). I don’t know many times I was walking and suddenly 6-foot-3 and prosperity, I’m 2 feet tall,” he said Hollywood reporter in April 2025 of sinking in the snow. “That happened a bit. I think there were a couple of falls in the episode you see; those are not stunts, I was falling and we decided to keep it in. I took a couple of very nasty leaks, and to be completely honest with you, I still get better. But that was months ago; it was worth it.”
Hartley continued, “One of the hardest parts of that episode was that they had all of these huge fans, it was like eight. I think there were eight fans around me at one time. We were outside and we were shoving snow in front of them, blowing snow and ice in my face for the blizzard for the blizzard we were supposed to be in. together.
Justin Hartley learned survival tactics from filming in Canada
Hartley shared that filming in the desert helps him develop useful survival skills.

That’s one of the things he lives in, so I’m trying to live by that too. It’s reinforced every time I play the character, so I guess that helps me in my personal life.”
Although the job involves a lot of preparation and training, Hartley is delighted to be part of such a successful series on the network.
“The proud minute of my career is to build Tracker From the bottom up with Ken Olin and get people to believe in us sufficiently to give us money to shoot, ”he said Us. “See the response from the people who watch it, who loves it, there we are. You never think you can do something like that, but it’s been amazing.”
