In the West Midlands, the second largest force in the country, an elite team of forensic experts is employed to solve the mystery of what has happened in the thousands of crime scenes they attend each year. Following a record number of murder investigations investigated by last year’s manslaughter department, this series charts a fascinating tour of individual pieces of evidence from the moment they are discovered in a crime setting up to the microscopic analysis in specialist laboratories to reveal the central role that forensic has on each investigation.
We meet the experts – from crime location coordinators to blood pattern analysts and shoe experts – and their job is to help shape what happened and find out who is responsible for the crime.
