The UN World Food Program states that it had exhausted all its food reserves to Gaza, where Israel has blocked humanitarian aid supplies for seven weeks.
“Today, WFP has delivered its latest food in the kitchen of hot dishes,” he warned. “It is expected that these kitchens will end the food in the coming days.”
On March 2, Israel disconnected assistance and resumed its offensive two weeks after the collapse of a two -month ceasefire, claiming that he was putting pressure on Hamas to release the rest of the hostages.
Israel is obliged to provide supplies for 2.1 million Palestinians to Gaza in accordance with the UN. Israel claims to be in line with international law and there is no lack of assistance.
At the end of March, all 25 bakers supported by WFP in Gaza were forced to close after wheat flour and culinary fuel was over. Food parcels distributed by families containing two weeks of rations were also exhausted.
The UN Office for Humanitarian Coordination (OCHA) states that there are also serious shortcomings of medicine, medical materials and equipment for hospitals overcrowded by the victims of Israeli bombing, and that the fuel deficit is hindered by the production and distribution of water.
WFP said the current Israeli blockade is the longest closure, which the gas faced – has aggravated the already delicate markets and food systems.
Food prices took off up to 1400% compared to ceasefire, and lack of major goods caused serious nutrition problems for vulnerable populations, including children under five, pregnant women and breastfeeding, and the elderly, warned.
Hot meals have provided critical salvation, but they only reach half the population, only 25% of daily food needs.
“The situation inside the gas lane has reached a fracture again: people do not have enough ways to cope, and the delicate income made during the short ceasefire is accelerated. Without urgency open borders for help and trade entry, critical WFP assistance may be forced to end,” the agency said.
“WFP urges all parties to prioritize the needs of civilians and allow help to enter gas immediately and fulfill their obligations in accordance with international humanitarian legislation.”
More than 116,000 tons of food aid – enough to feed a million people for four months – is located in the corridors of assistance and ready to be delivered as soon as Israel has re -sent border crossings.
Earlier this week, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected criticism from the UK, France and Germany, who called it “unbearable” and demanded it immediately in a joint statement.
The ministry said that more than 25,000 trucks carrying nearly 450,000 tons of assistance were entered into gas during the ceasefire, adding: “Israel is to keep an eye on the situation on the ground, and gas is not enough.”
It also states that Israel is not obliged to help, because Hamas “abducted” materials “to restore his terrorist machine”.
Earlier, Hamas denied theft of assistance, and the UN stated that it retained “a very good network of guardianship throughout the help it provided.”
Last week, Hamas rejected the Israeli proposal for a new ceasefire in Gaza, which included a demand for a six -week pause in hostilities and producing 10 of 59 hostages in captivity. The group once again confirmed that it would hand over all hostages in exchange for the end of the war and full Israeli withdrawal.
The Israeli military launched a campaign to destroy Hamas in response to an unprecedented cross -border attack on October 7, 2023, which killed about 1,200 people and took 251 people hostage.
At least 51,439 people have been killed in Gaza since then, according to the Ministry of Health in the field of health in the territory.
