Leaders of about 30 western countries take part in the Paris summit with Ukraine Volodimir Zelensky, with the aim of providing Kyiv’s security assurances if the ceasefire is agreed and convinced the US support.
The hopes for the transaction ended the fight after Russian Vladimir Putin met Donald Trump in Alaska, although the US president said on the eve of the conversation on Thursday that “we would do it”.
Trump had to talk to the “Coalition Coalition” leaders after the Paris summit, and French officials said it was important for many European partners that any military guarantees for Kyiv provided a “US Security Network”.
Last month, he said the United States is ready to help “probably” with air support, and Western allies are seeking to have Trump confirmed this.
The summit opened on Thursday chaired by France Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Sir Keira Starmer, and many leaders took part remotely.
NATO leader Mark Ruthte said the purpose was that the coalition could put them to discuss what the Americans could give.
Aerial support may include help in air or intelligence protection, but the details are still vague.
The source at the Elysée Palace stated that there were three goals for security guarantees: to strengthen the Ukrainian Armed Forces; support them by expanding their separate power to understand Russia that Ukraine has Western support; And to have an American security network that Americans will obviously have to support.
Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky stated that before the negotiations that Kiev had received “signals” from the Americans, that they would provide the back platform.
US Special Messenger Steve Witcoof arrived in Paris ahead of the summit, and it is reported that he should meet Zelensky.
More than 40 months after a full -scale invasion of Ukraine in Russia, Putin said that there is a “certain light” at the end of the tunnel and that “there are options for ensuring Ukraine’s security if the conflict ends.”
However, Russia made it clear that in Ukraine it is not necessary to post Western forces, and it insisted that it should be one of the countries that act as “guarantors” – the idea that its nod and its allies were rejected.
Putin also raised an unrealistic perspective to Ukraine, who comes to Moscow for talks to Moscow.
On Thursday, Mark Rute said that there was no veto in the Western troops located in Ukraine: “Why are we interested in what Russia thinks about troops in Ukraine? This is a sovereign country. This is not for their solution.”
President Trump said CBS News on Wednesday that he remained committed to the war termination agreement and said he continued to have good relations with both Putin and Zelensky.
“I think we will cross it all,” he said.
UK Defense Minister John Hill praised Trump, which he said, “brought Putin to negotiations” and “no options closed”.
Ukraine is looking for a coalition of readiness to come up with the forces of reassurance with the participation of British, French and other European troops. Germany stated that such commitments were too quickly.
The Russian leader, who conducted on Wednesday with Ki -i -Tsinping and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, claims that his country’s military is moving forward on all Ukraine’s fronts.
He warned that without the transaction, Moscow was ready “to solve all our tasks.”
While Ukraine and its allies say the ceasefire should be coordinated initially, Russia insisted that its campaign would not end in a full peace deal.
The source at the Ellise Palace stated that it became clear that Russia did not intend to have a ceasefire within a peaceful deal.
The source pointed to the demarcation line between North and South Korea, where the ceasefire lasted for years with a strongly armed, allied American deployment that serves as a signal to North Korea. This concept was extremely important for the Ukrainians, the source added.
