The rest of the episode takes place in the summer of 17 as Cadence says goodbye to the spirits of the Liars one by one. Now that she remembers, they can cross over to the other side. Cadence’s mother, Penny (Caitlin Fitzgerald) also offers her choice to continue living as Sinclair or move on from the family in the aftermath of the tragedy. Cadence selects the latter.
“I know the loss of big lovers now and I know the work of rebuilding from ash. Even in the shadow cast by what he used to stand still,” he said. “I was once in Sinclair and I will probably always be a liar because there are liars, you should know, forever.”
