The head of the city believed that his team dominated the game against the team of Nuno Esperito Santo, but said that the possession was late.
“It was a tight game. We have controlled the transitions very well. We did not create many possibilities, but we have defended very well,” Guardiola told TNT Sports.
“But in the end we lost a transition, lost the ball easy and mark.
“They defended themselves very well and we could not find the (finished) accuracy at the last moment.
“We have 10 games to qualify for us, you have to win matches to classify -v (for the Champions League). And we will go to the next.”
Guardiola also believes that the league is becoming more competitive and recognizes the work of its players between now and the end of the season.
“We knew it before the Premier League arrived each season is better and better,” added Guardiola.
“We have 10 finals and the next we start.”
The city is in action when it welcomes Brighton on Saturday.
