Uni Emery insists that his side Aston Villa still has belief despite falling to the 3-1 defeat against PSG in the first stage of the Champions League in Paris on Wednesday.
Morgan Rogers had given Villa a surprise leadership in a raucous park from Princes after 35 minutes, but the sublime goals of Desire Doue, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Nuno Mendes completed the comeback of the dominant champions of League 1.
The result means that Emery’s side has a monumental task in his hands in the second stage if they want to have hope to progress until the last four of the European elite competition.

But the Cap de la Vila believes that with the support at home his team has the ability to cause a nuisance next week to Villa Park.
“More or less the expectation I had in 90 minutes (tonight) passed,” Emery admitted.
“The result, maybe there is not much difference between 2-1 and 3-1 because we will play at home next week. It will still be a huge challenge for us, but we can feel strong at home with our support.
“We knew before the game we needed to be clinics and clinics in the first half. The second half did not.
“The party is the first section. Of course, the result is not good for us, but it could be a positive being at home where we can get our impulse and use our power.
“We believe in our support, we believe in Villa Park. We believe that players can give the best performance next week.”
Rogers echoed the feelings of his manager, adding that players have nothing to lose.
“We have another leg to try to give it around and we will look for -despite trying to win the tie and, in short, we will see where it takes us,” said Rogers.
“We did not want to come here (Paris) and be only spectators. We wanted to participate and try to compete and felt that we did it in large parts. Obviously, the score is not fantastic, but we have another game and we will try to go around.
“We have the quality to give it the turn.”

“We have quality in our locker room. We are here for a reason. We want to fight, we want to try and, finally, we have enough quality to cause problems in the world.
“We have nothing to lose. No one won us the tie in the first place, why not only go to seek it. This is the mentality I have, this is the mentality we all have and the manager.
“We just went ahead and continue to believe that we can do it and see where we are.
