The Vijay Hazare Trophy can be just the right platform for Varun to impress the selectors and get a chance to make his India debut in the ODI format and be part of India in the next Champions Trophy 2025. India are set to play all their matches in the UAE and a lethal spin option may prove beneficial for the team considering the fact that the Dubai pitch has historically been bowling-friendly.
Besides, Varun will also hope to prove his skills in the upcoming T20I and ODI series against England on the domestic floor. With Kuldeep Yadav injured, India are looking for a stable spin alternative in white-ball cricket. Varun has played 22 List A matches in his career so far and is also a consistent starter Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
