The promising Kusal Mendis coup on the continued eliminator between the Mumbai Indians and the Gujarat titans finished disappointed.
Sri Lanka star was not part of the original Gujarat Titans staff, but was signed as a replacement. With Jos Buttler who left before the playoffs due to the functions of the national team, Gujarat’s dress signed Kusal Mendis as a replacement.
The Wicketkeeper-Batsman had entered the IPL auction on several occasions in the past, but could not attract a single offer before finally obtaining his unidad IPL contract this month.

Although Gujarat Titans had other wick butter options such as Anuj Rawat and Kumar Kushagra, they gave Kusal Mendis a debut in the DO-O-DIE eliminator against Mumbai Indians.

The Batsman on his right hand had to go out for the first time after Trent Bulfice fired the Titanian pattern Shubman Gill for only 1. Playing his first IPL game, Kusal Mendis had a good touch from the beginning, as he left up to 20 runs of only 9 balls with the help of two six and four.
However, his promising blow ended strangely as he was out of Wicket. In the second ball of the 7th on Bowled by Mitchell Santner, Mendis played a shot in the deep half, but he took his back leg too deep and ended up hitting the bumps. After breaking the bumps, he also fell on his back as he lost his balance completely.
