During the 23rd game of the Big Bash League 2024-25cricket fans were treated to a rare and inventive display of athleticism when Melbourne Stars‘left-arm medium-fast bowler Joel Paris he tried a remarkable elimination against Melbourne Renegades blender Jacob Bethell. The match, played in a packed venue, witnessed moments of high drama, including Paris’ extraordinary effort on the field and a pivotal breakthrough that changed the course of the game.
The incident occurred during the 16th over of the Melbourne Renegades’ innings. Paris bowled a slower pitch at 113.7km/h that fooled Bethell, who missed his shot attempt and was hit on the thigh pad. The ball trickled down the leg side, teasing Jonathan Wells to order a quick single.
