The 4th game of the International League T20 (ILT20) 2025 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi got off to a flying start as Dubai Capitals’ fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera produced a stunning delivery to dismiss MI Emirates Kusal Perera. The moment highlighted Chameera’s prowess and gave the Capitals an early lead.
Opting to bat first, Dubai Capitals looked to exploit the cool conditions under the Abu Dhabi lights. His decision proved fruitful, with Chameera striking only on the first ball of the second over to remove the dangerous Perera, setting the tone for a fine bowling performance.
Chameera, known for his pace and accuracy, delivered a beauty to send his fellow Sri Lankan back to the pavilion. Pulling over the wicket, Chameera bowled a good length ball that zeroed on the top of the off stump.
Perera, an aggressive left-handed batsman, was unable to move his feet effectively and tried to defend with a slightly tilted bat. Unfortunately for him, the ball took a thick inside edge and ripped the leg stump. The Capitals celebrated with joy, knowing they had landed a key player.
This dismissal was a textbook example of top-class fast bowling, leaving Perera with no room for error. Chameera’s fiery opening spell set the tone for Dubai Capitals, who looked to capitalize on the early breakthrough.

Despite the early setback, MI Emirates managed to bounce back and reached 91/2 at the end of 11 overs. Their middle-order batsmen began to stabilize the innings, focusing on rotating the strike while taking calculated risks. The Capitals, however, continued to play with discipline, keeping the batters in check.
