In an unforgettable moment during the 17th game of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 at the Adelaide Oval, Andrew Tye showed his brilliance with an extraordinary one-handed catch for his farewell Jake Weatherald. Positioned at half-point, Tye pounced at precisely the right moment, extending his right hand to pluck the ball out of the air in an impressive display of athleticism and reflexes. He landed safely, catching the ball and leaving the Strikers at a critical juncture.

The strikers fight back, but the lower order strikes back
The Adelaide Strikers, batting first after losing the toss, struggled to build partnerships on a challenging pitch at Adelaide Oval. After early sacks by Lynn (1-for-3), Pope (1-for-5) and Weatherald (8-for-8), By Arcy Short (22 of 19) i Alex Ross (20 off 15) tried to stabilize the Srikers’ innings with brief but valuable contributions. However, their dismissals deepened the crisis further as they found themselves reeling at 58/8.
The lower order, led by Brendan Doggett i Cameron Boycemounted a vigorous recovery. Doggett, known primarily for his bowling, played a remarkable knock of 47 not out from 39 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes. Boyce provided solid support with a composite of 29 off 22, including three fours and a six. Their partnership gave a much-needed boost, allowing the Strikers to post a fighting total of 142/8 in 20 overs.
The Scorchers bowlers were relentless, with Jason Behrendorff leading the charge. Behrendorff figures of 2/14 in four envelopes epitomized control and precision. Lance Morris (19/2) i Jhye Richardson (3/29) also made important contributions, taking advantage of the conditions effectively. While Tye managed a wicket, his catch stole the limelight despite an expensive spell that conceded 46 runs.
