“Want us to be a family”

Aston Villa’s midfielder Morgan Rogers greeted Thomas Tuchel’s “aura” and revealed how the New England manager wants players to feel more connected to each other in front of the first German game by Friday.

England hosted Albania in a 2026 World Cup classification in Wembley before welcoming Latvia in London three days later.

Rogers, who won his first England lid against Greece in November under the interim director Lee Carsley, was named in Tuchel’s first squad, which also includes his teammate of Rogers, Marcus Rashford.

This is the presence of the 51 -year -old German manager, who has won 11 important trophies, including the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021, which the dynamic midfielder said he was forced to wear dress and tie for his first interaction with Tuchel, a 15 -minute zoom call a few weeks ago.

“When I met him, his aura and his behavior, it is difficult to explain, but he has this level of confidence, this level of respect,” said Rogers.

“You can see how it is, how it acts. It has been so cold and calm. But when it is time to work, it is time to work.

“You know what he has done in the game and the respect he has of the managers and players he has worked with. You know he will come with some serious ideas and it is about taking it on board and learning from it.”

Rogers revealed that communication is an area that Tuchel has stood out for the improvement of the England team under his administration.

“It will not go perfect. It was about meeting and being together as one, and talking to people,” Rogers said.

“Just talking and being on the same page, this makes a massive difference when you play.

“I know that first hand. Being in the clubs where I have been, to have the leaders I have had in the changing rooms and on the pitch, to have this person who constantly speaks to you, it certainly helps me. It helps you to spend sticky moments.”

Rogers, who has scored seven goals for the Unai Emery league this season, added that Tuchel had been “very clear and transparent” in team meetings.

The young man, 22, said: “The main one I made was about the love and commitment that we want from us inside, as we want us to be a family, as we want us to be close and connected”,

“The presence is a bit different. Some executives have different ways. Certainly their aura I have not experienced before. This is different from what I have faced before.”
