Vladimir Putin responds to the US ceasefire over Ukraine

Vladimir Putin said he agreed that the fighting in Ukraine should end, but added that any ceasefire plan should lead to a “lasting peace”.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday in Moscow, Russian President thanked US President Donald Trump for interfering with conflict.

He said that when we were open to the US proposal, he raised a number of issues that, he said, needed to discuss with Washington.
