Virginia Madsen Paid tribute to her late brother, Michael Madsen. Following his death at the age of 67 on Thursday, July 3.
“My brother Michael has left the stage. He was Thunder and Velvet. Evil wrapped in tenderness. A poet hidden as a ban,” wrote Virginia, 63, through Instagram on Thursday. “A father, son, brother – engraved in a contradiction, was tempered by a girlfriend who left his mark.”
In her tribute, Virginia noted that although Michael had a mythical reputation in Hollywood, his loved ones always treasured his humanity.
“We do not mourn a public figure. We do not mourn a myth – but flesh and blood and fierce heart,” he noted. “Who attacked through life loudly, great and a half on fire. Who leaves us echoing – Gruff, great, unimaginable – half a legend, half a nursery rhyme.”
