“In my first game, the first test game at MCG El Boxing Day, I was 24 years old. And the first game, I was in the Bat field.
“Not crushing, only Hadzi was obviously behind the bumps, and Watto was first. Nathan Lyon was a bowling, so I’m near. I think it had been four hours. I didn’t say a word. I think I said a line. I think I told him, turned, you have to play some shots,” he added.
Joe Burns stated that Virat Kohli responded with a shot, adding that he left him ashamed. Burns admitted that he stayed silent for the next four days, saying that Kohli was not someone who challenged.
“He stopped the bowling, stopped Nathan Lyon, turned to me and said,” You don’t speak, rookie. “
“I did not say a word next four days later, but he showed me that he was not someone he wrapped up. And I think that as a 24 -year -old débutant in Bat Pad, he was not really the person or in the place to say anything to that time.”
Joe Burns said that Virat Kohli, who retired from the test cricket in May with 9,230 runs and 30 centuries in 123 games, left a lasting impact on the team’s play style. Burns added that making contact with him in the field only motivated Kohli even more.
“Waiting Kohli is not backing a backward step. He really shaped the identity of this team. Even now, when he is not on the team, it can be seen that India is still playing in the mold of what he built over the years. He was always a fierce competitor. Personally, I tried not to look at the field because I knew he was pushed.”
Kohli last played a competitive match at IPL 2025. He was essential in the first title of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The 36 -year -old batter will play India during the hatred of three games series Against Australia in October.
