The Prime Minister Vanuata ordered the abolition of the passport issued by the island nation, the refugees of the Indian businessman Lolita Modi, who debt Delhi in the corruption case.
The order came three days after India confirmed that Mr. Modi received a Vanuat nationality, a number of more than 80 islands in the Pacific.
Mr Modi, former chief of the Indian Prime Minister (IPL), is searching for allegedly falsification for the post as the head of the world’s richest in the world.
Modi, who has lived in the UK since 2010, has always denied the allegations.
India has made some failed attempts to extradite it.
On Friday, a press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India Randhir Jacewal told reporters that Mr. Modi appealed to submit his Indian passport in London.
“We also make it clear that he has acquired Vanuatu citizenship. We continue to deal with him as the legislation is required,” Jacewal said.
The news that Mr. Modi became a Vanuata citizen, made her headlines in India, where he was once the face of a glamorous, rich IPL tournament. He regularly attended the social stage, rubbing his shoulders with Bollywood stars and India’s elite.
But on Monday, Prime Minister Vanuata Jotham Putt announced that his country has decided to abolish Mr. Modi’s citizenship.
Napat said that Vanuatu’s passport was “privilege” and “applicants should seek citizenship for legal reasons.”
“None of these legitimate reasons includes an attempt to avoid extradition, which recently clearly found that it was the intention of Modi,” Napat said in the media release.
He said the checks and checks of the Interpol conducted during the Mr Modi’s application for the passport did not show criminal beliefs.
But, he added that in the last 24 hours he learned that Interpol twice dismissed Indian requests to issue a warning about Mr. Modi, citing the lack of “significant court evidence”.
“Any such warning would have caused the automatic refusal of Mr. Modi’s application for citizenship,” the issue added.
This step is likely to bring relief to the Indian authorities. Unlike the UK, Vanuatu has no extradition contract with India.
The extradition contracts allow the repatriation of people accused of crimes between the countries.
The day before g -n fi wrote in pillar On X (formerly Twitter) that there were no cases in any court of India and accused of the media of distributing “fake news” about it.
Mr. Modi played an important role in the IPL founding in 2008, which became a multi-billion dollar industry.
Major charges against Modi are concerned with falsification during the auction of the two team franchise in 2010. He was also charged with broadcasting and rights on the Internet without permission.
In 2013, the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) Banned r -o madi with Any participation in cricket activities for life.
