March 2024
On March 14, Bertinelli shared that she had started dating someone “very special” and did not expect to find love again after splitting of Vitale after 11 years.
“I was going to die with my six cats and my dogs and be extremely happy doing it,” he said in an interview with USA today at the time. “So this came out of the left field, and I’m grateful for him to do. This wouldn’t have happened three years ago, four years ago, last year – it wouldn’t have been. And I feel incredibly lucky that I met him and made a connection with him.”
April 2024

Goodnough also acknowledged how he will know that his relationship with Bertinelli will put him more in the magnifying glass, but he is not afraid.
“Along with being in relation to someone of Valerie’s successes and reputation some things come,” he explained. “Among them there is more attention. I’ve already seen a little of that here on Subtack in the form of a little uptick in signs for free subscriptions. People read about someone, get curious, and go looking at them.
