The US military base commander in Greenland was fired after she reportedly sent an electronic message, giving herself from criticism by Vice President J. D. Vens.
The US Space Operations Command in the United States said Colonel Susana Meyers was withdrawn from her duties at the Pituffik space base with “loss of confidence in her ability.”
Last month, Vnes used a trip to the Arctic Island to criticize Denmark – from which Greenland is a territory – for not spending greater security in the region, saying it did not “do good work” for Greenland.
The alleged letter published by the US Military News site told staff that Vnes’ comments were “not reflecting” the base.
After the trip, March 31, it is reported that Caleyer Meyers wrote: “I do not think I understand the current policy, but what I know is the problem of the US administration, discussed by Vice President Vens on Friday, does not reflect the Pituffik space base.”
Military.com – which published an email – said the content was confirmed by the US space force.
Being confirmed that this was the cause of her shooting, Pentagon’s press secretary Sean Parnell, related to Wismal.com in the message on X by writing: “Actions (which) undermine the chain of command management or undermine Trump’s presidential agenda (Donald) is not allowed at the Ministry of Defense.”
A statement of the Space Force, which announced the removal of Kol -Meers on Thursday states that Kol Sean Lee replaces it.
Added: “It is expected that the commanders will follow the highest standards of behavior, especially since it is due to the remaining non -partisan performance.”
During his whirlwind, Vnes also confirmed Trump’s desire to attach Greenland for security reasons.
Since the visit of the US delegation, Greenland, and Denmark have shown the united front, opposing the annexation of the US Autonomous Danish territory.
Earlier this month, the official visit of Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederixen saw her standing next to her Greenland counterpart Jens-Frederick Nielsen and his predecessor “Mita Aege”.
Speaking to the journalists, Frederixen directly addressed Trump, saying to him, “You can’t annex other countries.”
She added that Denmark strengthens her military presence in the Arctic and offered closer cooperation with the US in defense of the region.
Greenland, the world’s largest island, is under the control of Danish control for about 300 years.
Polls show that the vast majority of Greenland want to gain independence from Denmark – but do not want to become part of the United States.
Greenland had the right to call an independence referendum since 2009, although in recent years some political parties have begun to press more strongly.
