Us to increase tariffs on imports of steel to 50%

President Donald Trump has announced that the United States will double its tariff rate for imports from 25% to 50%.

Speaking at a rally in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Trump said the move would help to increase the local metallurgical industry and national products, reducing China’s dependence.

Trump also said $ 14 billion will be invested in the production of steel through the partnership between the US and the Japanese Nippon Steel. Details in the partnership are still unclear, though Trump advertises the transaction he concluded.
