Republicans in the US Senate said they will get rid of the US HIV/AIDS PEPFAR program from the reduction, amid greater efforts to reduce government expenses.
Senators said they will finish the plan to cut $ 400 million (£ 300 million) from the Presidential Emergency Plan for AIDS Assistance Program, leaving the total proposed cuts of $ 9 billion.
