The US Navy plans to remove the name of Gay leader and Navy veteran Harvey Mila from his ships, and can change the headlines of other courts that honor civil rights leaders.

The plans were outlined in the documents received by the American partner of the BBC CBS News, which shows the terms when the renaming of USNS Harvey Milk will be distributed to the public.

It comes during the month of honor in June, the annual honoring of the LGBT community, which coincides with the anniversary of Stone -Ool in 1969.

The directive also goes amid a broader movement of Trump administration to restrain the programs that contribute to the diversity and inclusion in federal agencies.

Sean Parnell, a Pentagon spokesman, said CBS on Tuesday that the renaming of USNS Harvey Milk is to restructure US military personnel for the purpose of Trump’s administration to “restore a warrior culture” in the armed forces.

The note requires that the secretary of the Military Fleet John Fallan have chosen a new name for the fleet. Such a change in the name will be transferred to other high -ranking US Navy officials after a legal inspection.

It also outlines other courts recommended for renaming, including USNS Ruth Bader Ginsburg, named after the late Liberal Supreme Court, and USNS Harriet Tubman, named after American slavery.

Harvey Mills is known for the fact that the first open gay man was elected to the California position, winning the place in the Board of Heads San Francisco. He was killed 10 months after he was sworn.

Pressing the renaming of USNS Harvey Milk comes after the Directive issued by the Minister of Defense Pitt Hugset earlier this year, ordered us to stop holding activities related to heritage or months of awareness.

This directive banned the use of resources and labor at such events as the month of Pride, the Moon of Black History and the Moon of Women’s History, citing concern that they undermine unity in the army.

US President Donald Trump also issued executive orders earlier this year to ban diversity, justice and inclusion (Dei) in government, and this made him official US policy recognize two hollows, men and women.

Proponents of Dei programs say they affect the historical insufficient presentation and discrimination against certain groups, including racial minorities, but critics say that such initiatives themselves are discriminatory.

The renaming of Harvey Milk and other ships was criticized by famous Democrats, including former Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosy.

In a CBS statement, Pelosy called this step “the vindictive erasure of those who fought for the destruction of barriers for all to pursue the American dream.”

The leader of the minority of the Democratic Senate Chuck Sumer wrote on X on Tuesday that Hegset “should be ashamed of himself and immediately cancel it.”
