The European allies of Ukraine promised 21 billion euros ($ 24 billion; £ 18 billion) in the new tranche of Kiev’s military support in what they called the “critical year” for the war.
More than half of this – 11 billion euros for four years – from Germany. British Defense Minister John Hill said the promises would send a strong signal to Moscow.
The announcement happened when members of the Ukraine contact contacts met at NATO -Kokvators in Brussels to lay air defense, missiles and other transmission when Europe sought to fill the gap left by the changed US priorities at Donald Trump.
European Defense Ministers have said they did not see the signs of the war, despite Trump’s promise to cease fire.
The support announced on Friday also includes a package of £ 450 million ($ 590 million) from the UK and Norway to finance radar systems, anti -tank mines, car repair and hundreds of thousands for Ukraine. The money is part of the British collateral £ 4.5 billion earlier this year.
Air defense was a priority in Brussels. Hill said that Russian troops reduced 10,000 bombs to Ukraine in the first three months of this year, and launched 100 unilateral drones a day.
“In our calculations, 70% to 80% of the battle victims are now caused and dried up,” said the UK Defense Minister.
Meanwhile, the German aid package has a significant focus on artillery.
Boris Pistaria said Germany would send 100,000 rounds of artillery, 25 infantry vehicles, 15 combat tanks, 100 terms and 120 air defense systems.
Berlin also send four IRIS-T air defense systems with 300 rockets to Kyiv.
“Ukraine needs a strong serviceman, and only then the negotiating process can lead to fair and lasting peace,” the German Defense Minister told Brussels.
Defense ministers from 50 countries gathered in Brussels for 27 UDCG fees.
US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegset joined the meeting remotely, telling the allies that America praised its work.
Pistaria said the HEGST decision was a matter of “schedules”, not “priorities”, and that “the most important fact was what he took part.”
Other leaders also joined remotely, including President of Ukraine Wolf Zelensky.
The Minister of Defense of Kiev Rustem Merrov, who was in Brussels, thanked Europe for “taking a security leading” for his country.
He also said that visiting Gegset “means that the United States is continuing security and near us.”
Haley, Pistaria and the measurers accused Russia of dragging legs to cease fire.
Haley said he had passed for more than a month as Russia rejected peace settlement. Pistaria said Russia is still not interested in the world.
Negotiations in Europe were held when the US Messenger Steve Witcoof once again went to Russia to press the Kremlin to accept the truce.
On Friday, Vitcoof met Vladimir Putin in St. Petroburg As Donald Trump urged the Russian President to “move” to cease fire in Ukraine.
Earlier, Kremlin’s press -secretary Dmitry Pesko said that Putin and Vitkoff would discuss the war of Ukraine, but you should not expect “breakthroughs”.
On the ground in Ukraine, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that on Thursday its forces seized the village of Chhurov, in the northern border region of Ukraine Sumi.
Ukrainian officials will not yet confirm this.
Earlier this week, President Zelensky stated that up to 67,000 Russian soldiers were located north of the Sumi region, preparing for the attack on the city of Sami.
