Ukraine’s allies condemn Russia for rocket attack in Sami

The Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Sami, which killed 34 people – including two children – and suffered 117 others, was strongly condemned by the Western allies of Kiev.

“Strong measures are needed to introduce Russia,” he said. “France is working tirelessly on this purpose with its partners.”

Describing the attack as a “barbaric”, the President of the European Commission Ursul von der Leyen added: “Russia was and remains an aggressor, in a brazen violation of international law.

“Heavy measures are needed for the ceasefire. Europe will continue to resort to partners and maintain strong pressure on Russia until the bloodshed, and the fair peace will be reached under the terms and terms of Ukraine.”

British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer also expressed his opinion, saying he was “delighted with the horrific attacks of Russia on civilians.”

UN Secretary-General’s spokesman Antonio Gutteres said he was “deeply disturbed” to find out about the missile attack.

“Attacks on civil and civilian objects are prohibited in accordance with international humanitarian legislation, and that any attacks where they happen should end immediately,” he added.

Gutirez emphasized the UN support for “significant efforts to a fair, lasting and comprehensive peace that fully supports Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.”
