Russia states that on Monday send a delegation to Istanbul for the second round of peace talks with Ukraine.
Kremlin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said Moscow’s conditions are being developed in Turkey and will be discussed in Turkey.
Ukraine has stated that it remains committed to the dialogue, but not to send the delegation until it received details of the ceasefire.
The first round of negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations was held at the beginning of the month, resulting in both sides returned to hundreds of prisoners in the largest exchange since the beginning of a full -scale invasion of Russia.
Foreign Minister Ukraine Andri Sibikh stated that Ukraine had already sent its own “vision of future steps” to Russia, adding that Moscow “should accept the unconditional ceasefire” to pave the way for wider negotiations.
“We are curious to see how these meetings continue because we want the war to end this year,” Sibikh said during a joint press conference with her Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on Friday.
When the talks are going forward on Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky are not expected.
But Fidan said Turkey hoped to eventually accept the high -level summit: “We sincerely think it’s time to attract President Trump, President Putin and President Zelenski on the table.”
Peskov said Russia would only entertain the idea of a high -level summit when significant progress was made in previous discussions between the two countries.
He welcomes the comments made by Trump’s messenger in Ukraine, Keith Kegl’s deduction, who called Russian concerns about NATO’s expansion as “just”.
General Kealo said that Ukraine, which joined the military alliance, has long been on the table.
He added that President Trump was “disappointed” by what he called in Russia’s disorder, but emphasized the need to keep the negotiations alive.
On Wednesday, the new German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz said Ukraine Zelensky, that Berlin would help Kyiv produce long -range missiles to defend against future Russian attacks.
The Kremlin said any decision to terminate the range on rockets Ukraine can use a dangerous change in policy that will harm the efforts to put an end to the war.
Currently, Moscow controls 20% of the worldly recognized territory of Ukraine, including the Crimea, which it has attached in 2014.
