The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) states that it was able to strike on Crimea -during underwater explosive substances after surgery that lasted “several months”.
The SBU stated that its agents “extract” the bridge from 1100 kg of explosives, which “badly damaged” the lower level of support.
The “first explosive device” was activated early on Tuesday morning “without any civilian casualties,” the SBU added. The information shared by the SBU could not be checked immediately.
The Russian media originally stated that the bridge was shortly closed for movement, but it opened up to 10:00 local time (08:00 GMT).
However, later on this day, local authorities warned that the bridge was closed again.
Confirmed messages in social media said there were more explosions around the structure.
The official operative update on the sharing of the telegram about the bridge said: “We ask those who are on the bridge and in the inspection zone to remain calm and follow the instructions of transport safety staff.”
Russia has not yet commented on the attack on Tuesday, but Russian military bloggers suggested that the underwater drone, not the explosive, got into a protective barrier.
The SBU stated that its director, Lieutenant General Basil Maluk, personally managed the operation and coordinated his planning.
In Telegram Post he quotes Maluk who said Ukraine got 2022 and 2023 And so he “continued this tradition under water.”
“No illegal Russian facilities take place on the territory of our country,” Maluk said.
“Thus, the Crimean Bridge is an absolutely legal goal, especially given that the enemy used it as a material and technical artery to supply its troops.”
The bridge – also known as the Kerha Bridge – was built by Russia after it broke off and rendered the Crimean Peninsula in 2014. It was opened by Russian President Vladimir Putin in a large fanfare in 2018.
In Ukraine, the bridge is a hated symbol of the Russian occupation. Moscow carefully protects it – making any attack on it, whether it is underwater drones or explosives, a great achievement.
Strike on Tuesday on the bridge comes almost 48 hours after Ukraine has been hit by several purposes across Russia as part of an operation, called “Spider”.
Kiev said he smuggled more than 100 drones to Russia and managed to deliver them near the air bases not suspended by truck drivers.
The drones then flew out of trucks and attacked Russia’s evaluative strategic bombers in places across the country.
