Ukraine reports many Russian drones after the ending of the truce

The military of Ukraine reported the attacks of Russian drones on several regions over the night, just hours after the end of the 30-hour “Easter truce” announced by Moscow.

Ukraine’s air force issued alerts for raids for the region of Kiev, as well as Kherson, Dnipraperovskaya, Cherkassi, Nicholas and Cavenitsa.

In the southern city of Nikolaev, Mayor Oleksandr Senkevich said “blasts were heard”. It was not immediately clear whether there were losses.

Russian military did not comment on the reported attacks. The truce, announced by President Vladimir Putin, ended at midnight on Sunday Moscow (21:00 GMT). Both sides accused each other of violating the ceasefire.

In the first hours of Monday, residents of several Ukrainian cities, including the capital of Kiev, called on the local authorities to go to nearby shelters with the threat of drones.

The BBC did not independently confirm the claims of Kiev and Moscow.

US President Donald Trump – pushing for war – said on Sunday that “I hope Russia and Ukraine will make a deal this week.” He did not give more detail.

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a full -scale invasion of Ukraine, and currently controls about 20% of Ukraine, including the South Crimea Peninsula, brought by Moscow in 2014.

Hundreds of thousands of people – the vast majority of soldiers – have been killed or injured on all sides since 2022.

Last month, Moscow came up with a long list of conditions in response to a complete and unconditional ceasefire, which was agreed by the US and Ukraine.
