Two people were killed in a car in a forest fire, which was torn through the southern Cyprus amid stunning temperatures, which are expected to rise by 44C on Thursday.
Cyprus police said two burnt bodies were found in a burned vehicle on Wednesday after the village of Mali near Limassol.
The bodies should still be officially identified, but local media reports say the car belonged to a 77-year-old woman who was reportedly missing. The couple is understood as an elderly couple from the area.
More than a dozen other people were treated for the injuries associated with a fire that had already destroyed the houses and destroyed 100 km (40 sq.m) of land.
More than 250 firefighters were deployed to fight a fire, which was diluted with a strong wind from stunning temperatures.
